How
NanoNest Technology Works
Our sealant doesn’t just coat the surface — it changes the molecular structure of asphalt shingles using engineered nanoparticles just 40–60 nanometers wide.
These particles bond deep within each shingle, forming a waterproof, breathable barrier that strengthens, seals, and extends the lifespan of your roof from the inside out.
- Penetrating nanosealers — not surface coatings
- Strengthens and bonds shingle layers at the core
- Outlasts traditional tar- or oil-based treatments
- Proven to extend roof lifespan by 10–15 years
- Backed by peer-reviewed independent testing
A Deeper Look: How NanoNest Technology Works From the Inside Out

NanoNest’s GoNano® treatment doesn’t just coat the surface — it bonds on a molecular level. Once applied, nanoparticles between 40–60 nanometers penetrate deep into porous materials and begin reacting.
These reactions form S1 particles, which restructure the material internally. Unlike traditional sealers that sit on top and wear away, NanoNest creates chemical cross-links that lock in durability and repel moisture, UV, and age-related damage.
The result? A surface that is stronger, more flexible, and highly water-repellent — all while keeping its original look. One application can extend the life of your roof, deck, or driveway by up to 15 years.
Deck & Fence Sealing FAQs
How long does the NanoNest wood coating last?
Unlike traditional sealers that fade after one season, our GoNano® wood protection can last 5 years or more depending on sun and weather exposure — drastically reducing your need to re-stain annually.
Will it change the appearance or color of my wood?
No. NanoNest coatings are completely transparent. They preserve the wood’s natural look and grain — no darkening, gloss, or sheen added.
Is it safe for pets and children?
Absolutely. Our sealants are non-toxic, VOC-free, and safe to use around families, pets, and plants after drying.
How does this compare to oil- or water-based sealers?
Traditional sealers sit on top and wear away. NanoNest sealers penetrate deep into the wood, forming a molecular bond that lasts longer and performs better in real-world conditions.
Do I need to prep my deck or fence first?
Yes. The wood should be clean, dry, and free of old coatings for best results. We include full surface prep and pressure washing with every project, so you don’t have to do it yourself.
